Covid19

West London Games Club has always had the community at its heart, the coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on our communities, and our mental health. We are continuously reviewing the rules put in place by the government to determine whether we have permission for our Meetup Events to continue under the current restrictions.

Latest Page Update: Thursday, 15th October 2020

Current COVID alert level: High (effective date: 17th October 2020)

Meetups will continue, albeit in a highly restricted manner. Events will be split into table-based sessions of 2-4 people that are from the same household (and support bubble), see below for further information on this, and some of the wider information available.

COVID-secure guidance: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19

Venues following COVID-secure guidance can host more people in total, but no one must mix indoors with anyone who they do not live with (or have formed a support bubble with) unless exemptions apply. Outdoors, you can meet in groups of up to 6 people.

The guidelines for meeting family and friends (click here) are that you must not meet socially with friends and family indoors in any setting unless you live with them or have formed a support bubble with them. This includes private homes, and any other indoor venues such as pubs and restaurants.

Support Bubble: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/making-a-support-bubble-with-another-household

You can form a support bubble with another household of any size that is not part of a support bubble with anyone else if you:

  • live by yourself – even if carers visit you to provide support
  • are a single parent living with children who were under 18 on 12 June 2020

The guidelines specifically for restaurants, pubs, bars and takeaway services (click here) are very specific, face masks are now mandatory at all times when indoors, “Face coverings may be removed when seated to eat or drink in a pub, bar, restaurant or café. You must put a face covering back on once you finish eating or drinking.”
